Comodo SSL introduces TrustLogo – the Internets first “Point to Verify™” Real-time Identity Assurance technology
Kent, UK, 06 June 2002. Comodo, the Internet security specialist, has released its TrustLogo product family – the latest technology to utilise the IdAuthority – Comodo’s extensive Identity Assurance infrastructure. Through a dynamically supported logo placed on websites, TrustLogo provides confidence and peace of mind to website visitors. In turn, TrustLogo helps achieve what is currently unavailable – an e-commerce environment in which website visitors are assured they are dealing with legitimate organisations.
TrustLogo is deployed using Comodo’s innovative ‘Point to Verify™’ technology. Website visitors can request a real-time identity verification of the website displaying the TrustLogo simply by hovering their mouse over the logo. The identity of the website is then verified using Comodo’s Identity Assurance infrastructure in real-time, and a summary of the site’s credentials are displayed to the visitor. Further essential site details are available by clicking on the TrustLogo itself.
“TrustLogo is essential for any website who takes its customer concerns about safe and secure online shopping seriously”, says Paul Tourret, Managing Director of Comodo Ltd. “TrustLogo is not only about a site claiming to be trustworthy, what makes it different is its ability to allow website visitors to actively validate that claim, and in real-time”, comments Tourret.
TrustLogo technology provides site visitors with up to the second validity reports directly from the IdAuthority. The real-time lookup of a site’s credentials ensures that the site visitor will always benefit from knowing the actual status of the website at any particular moment. Providing up to the second website identity assurance is a revolutionary step in achieving a safer and securer web for both home and business users.
TrustLogo is available in a number of product types. Each product type provides second by second identity assurance as well as information specific to the product type. As a website is validated before it can display the various product types, the visitor is informed that not only a site is legitimate, but it has the right to make the claims represented through their TrustLogo:
Site Credentials Premium:
The Site Credentials Premium removes a major barrier to successful e-commerce: the inability to verify the trust between a website and its visitors. The website’s company name and country of incorporation are prominently displayed on the site seal, and simply by hovering their mouse on the logo website visitors can view your company logo and address. Prior to being issued with a seal, the applicant’s details are validated, ensuring that only authentic organisations may display credentials when a visitor ‘points to verify’. Site Credentials Premium is available in two seal types for sites with and without SSL capabilities.
Card Payment Acceptance Seal:
The Card Payment Acceptance logo addresses the growing issue of websites losing customers at the point of sale simply due to fears of exposing credit card details to a website. Display of Card Payment Acceptance Seal informs customers that the website has been authorised by the world’s leading credit card companies to handle credit cards.
Official Comodo Partners:
All Official Comodo Partners are eligible to display the Partners Seal. Like the Dynamic Site ID, website visitors can validate an organisation by using the point to verify method.
Organisations wishing to view the current example website displaying the TrustLogo product family can do so by visiting Trustlogo.com. TrustLogo is due for commercial deployment start June 2002 and will be available in standalone products or bundled with the hugely successful InstantSSL webserver security product range. The TrustLogo products will be available with multiyear and bulk discounts to existing and new members of the Reseller programme.
