Internet Security provider Comodo is a Proud Supporter of the Performing Arts
Global Certification Authority Leader Sponsors Jennifer Muller/The Works’ New Dance Creations
Jersey City, NJ (June 20, 2007) – Comodo, a global Certification Authority and leader in Identity and Trust Assurance Management solutions, today announced it is pleased to be a supporter of the performing arts and has funded the creation of the ERIC EMANUEL NEW WORKS FUND in memory of Eric Emanuel, Chairman of Comodo. The sponsorship supports the artistry of Jennifer Muller/The Works, including the World Premiere of Artistic Director Jennifer Muller’s latest dance, Edge. The Eric Emanuel New Works Fund was publicly announced at Jennifer Muller/The Works’ Spring Gala on Tuesday, June 12th at The Ailey Citigroup Theater in New York City.
The Eric Emanuel New Works Fund (“New Works Fund”) will annually support the creation of one new dance by Ms. Muller and will also sponsor the work of an emerging choreographer, thereby forging a line to continue the Muller legacy, in which Eric Emanuel so strongly believed. Eric was a long-time supporter of this contemporary dance company, and his efforts and advocacy demonstrated a true love for the expressive power of dance. The New Works Fund celebrates Eric’s vitality and entrepreneurial spirit, and will stand as a lasting legacy to his vision. The new creations supported by the New Works Fund will be essential to expanding The Works’ visibility and promoting new tour engagements around the world.
Edge, the 2007 Premiere supported by the Eric Emanuel New Works Fund, is a dynamic movement piece set to music by Zap Mama with dramatic elements that explore the nature of trepidation, challenge, and the ultimate courage that propels individuals to step off into the unknown. The Gala Performance also included three other dances by Ms. Muller: Beethoven-Not Four Naught (2000), Hymn for Her (2000) and Island (2005).
Comodo has also extended its support to underwrite the international airfare for Rosie Lani Fiedelman, a member of The Works, for its 2007-08 China Tour.
“Comodo is thrilled to sponsor such a wonderful, talented organization that reaches so many,” said Melih Abdulhayoglu, CEO and Chief Security Architect of Comodo. “Our sponsorship of the Jennifer Muller/The Works is a meaningful way to continue to honor the memory and passion of our Chairman, Eric Emanuel.”
