Godo Chooses Comodo Internet Security to Deliver Proactive Security and Authentication to Online Banking Customers
Leading Credit Union Makes Proactive Move in Non-Regulated Industry to Maintain and Expand Member Base
Jersey City, NJ (July 19, 2007) – Comodo , a global leader in Identity and Trust Assurance Management solutions, announced today that Godo, a leading credit union headquartered in Suriname, has chosen Comodo to deliver authentication to its online banking customers, as its online function prepares to launch. Godo will utilize Comodo’s Two Factor Authentication for authenticating the user to the institution, Comodo’s Content Verification Certificate (CVC) to protect key content from being spoofed by a phisher, and an EV SSL Certificate for online visual authentication of the site’s identity. Banking in Suriname is a non-regulated industry, so authentication is not a requirement, nevertheless Godo has chosen to proactively deliver authentication as online consumers seek greater protection.
“We chose to employ Comodo’s Authentication Solutions to clearly demonstrate our commitment to securing our customers’ trust,” said Jerry Robles de Medina. “We felt it was an important decision that will help stimulate our growth. Online customers are demanding authentication more and more, and if we want to keep the customers we have and bring in more new members, Comodo Authentication Solutions are optimal solutions.”
Comodo Authentication Solutions are effective low-cost solutions with little integration that are easily configured and quickly deployed. Because Comodo Authentication Solutions are based on an established PKI infrastructure and digital certificate lifecycle management processes, operating costs are greatly reduced. Further, PKI is recognized by industry leaders around the world as a best practice in online security and authentication. Motivated by these factors, Godo made a strategic business decision to deploy Comodo solutions to both maintain its current member base and to attract new customers.
“By choosing Comodo Authentication Solutions, Godo recognizes the competitive advantages of adopting a best practices approach to online security.” said Igor Seletskiy, Comodo’s Director of Technology. “This sets a precedent for many other organizations to follow and shows that digital authentication is no longer an optional add-on but a core growth requirement.”
Godo plans to have its online banking arm in full operation by September. For more information on Comodo Authentication Solutions, please visit Comodo.com/banking .
